Genzeon launches GenAI-supported healthcare platform

Technology company Genzeon has launched a new generative AI-powered (GenAI) intelligence platform for the healthcare industry.

The US-headquartered IT provider said that its HIP One platform uses GenAI to help healthcare organisations develop their clinical and business operations within a single platform with the aim of reducing cost and management challenges.

“The HIP One platform is meticulously designed from the ground up,” said Genzeon founder and chief executive Venkat Thumula. “It aims to deliver superior return on digital investment and innovation by harnessing cutting-edge technology, while prioritising privacy and security.”

The move comes as companies around the world roll out GenAI to support data efficiency across a multitude of areas, including Walmart which recently announced it was exploring a GenAI supported feature to allow shoppers to search by specific use cases.

Last month, GymShark also rolled out Google Cloud’s GenAI and data analytics tools to drive "digital growth".

Whie many companies are hopping on the GenAI train, a recent government paper warned that safeguards to prevent frontier AI models from complying with harmful requests, including designing cyber-attacks, were currently not “robust”.

Similar findings came from a recent study published by the University of Sheffield’s computer science department, which suggested that AI can be manipulated to help steal sensitive personal information, tamper with or destroy databases, or bring down services via Denial-of-Service attacks.

PhD student at the University Xutan Peng, who co-led the research, warned that the risk with AI systems like ChatGPT is that people are increasingly using them as productivity tools rather than a conversational bot.
