Uber launches UK car rental service

Uber has rolled out its car hire service across the UK.

Uber Rent allows users to book and hire a car through the Uber app, with car rental partner CarTrawler.

Users provide date and location details of their desired rental which will be matched with available vehicles.

The company said that the move comes after a successful trial of the service.

The service is also available in a number of other European countries, including: Spain; Portugal; Italy; US; and Switzerland.

“The UK boasts one of the largest rental markets globally, at Uber we’re growing our business to become the ultimate travel app and in the UK that means providing a best-in-class rental experience for our users,” said Andrew Brem, general manager, Uber. “Uber Rent will not only provide a seamless and efficient booking experience but offer Uber Credits back on every booking”.
