LSEG integrates ChatGPT to data products

The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has partnered with OpenAI to enable ChatGPT users and enterprise customers to directly access financial data licensed by the exchange.

With the launch of its new Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector, LSEG will grant access to licensed data through its products such as Workspace and Financial Analytics, giving its customers access to financial data and news content.

ChatGPT users with credentials licensed by LSEG will be able to access and analyse LSEG financial market data and news directly from the chat to provide deeper market analysis and faster insights.

Following the initial release, LSEG said it will also provide ChatGPT users and enterprise customers with additional data categories and capabilities.

In addition, LSEG said 4,000 of its employees will have access to ChatGPT Enterprise, with the move aiming to help them streamline tasks, improve internal processes, and boost productivity.

LSEG currently operates in 65 countries across EMEA, North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific, employing over 26,000 people globally.

Emily Prince, group head of AI at LSEG, said: “LSEG’s connector within ChatGPT combines all the benefits of a secure, enterprise AI platform with a seamless MCP connection and the unparalleled depth, breadth and quality of financial data, analytics, news and commentary that LSEG provides.”

Ashley Kramer, head of revenue at OpenAI, emphasised how the integration of LSEG data into ChatGPT aims to make it easier for customers to ask complex financial questions.

“We’re proud to support LSEG as they bring richer insights to their clients and equip their own teams with more efficient, AI-driven workflows,” said Kramer.
