Getir in 'advanced talks' to acquire rival Gorillas

Getir, the food delivery service with operations in the UK and throughout Europe, is in ‘advanced talks’ to acquire delivery service rival Gorillas, according to reporting by Bloomberg.

Sources told Bloomberg the proposed deal would be a mix of cash and equity but added that no final decisions have been made and the deliberations may not result in a transaction.

In 2021, Getir, which was founded in Istanbul, Turkey in 2015, hit a valuation of $7.5 billion. In March 2022, the company received a further $800 million investment bringing its valuation to around $11.8 billion.

National Technology News has approached Getir and Gorillas for comment.
