Data Innovation Forum: in partnership with Hitachi Vantara

Thursday 6 June 2019, etc.venues St Paul's, London

Data is the fuel that keeps our modern, digital economy running, but not all organisations are using it as efficiently as they could be.

Join your peers for this half-day event exploring the biggest trends within technology and how businesses across industries are dealing with the challenges and opportunities of data-fuelled innovation.

The Forum will look to what’s next in hybrid IT, operational technology and the Internet of Things (IoT), with contributions from Hitachi Vantara, its industry partners and expert speakers like Tim Weber, former business and technology of the BBC News website and now editorial director of Edelman UK - who will delve into the tech industry post Brexit and the findings of the Edelman 2019 Trust Barometer.

Also speaking is Peter Jackson, director of group data sciences at Legal & General and co-author of the CDO Playbook, who will share his experiences of owning the data within his current and previous organisations.

Across a variety of sessions and demos, you’ll learn about the move to connected devices and smart cities, the big data projects powering artificial intelligence (AI), and how to turn the challenges of data privacy rules like GDPR into competitive advantages

Plenary sessions will focus on real life examples of putting information analytics at the core of business operations: from a train operator using big data to detect train door failures before they occur, to financial services providers utilising machine learning to transform their data pipelines.

You’ll hear from industry peers about the advantages of co-creation and their experience of partnerships, specifically through the Optimise Prime initiative, examining the end-to-end impact of the world‘s biggest trial of commercial electric vehicles (CEVs) across London and the South East.

This is a unique opportunity to see how using large, real-time datasets is changing the world we live in and the way businesses function.
